Numerous ACSI member schools have been shut down in southern Haiti along with churches and hospitals following the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that devastated the island country on August 14 compounded by flooding from a tropical storm. The death toll has reached over 2,190, and at least 12,000 people have been injured while 1.2 million people have been affected leaving 30,000 families homeless.
Pastor Solect Jean-Baptiste, ACSI’s National Director in Haiti, is asking for prayer and seeking to raise $30,000 to support member schools impacted by the earthquake with food kits, hygiene kits, and student kits (that will include pens, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, school bags, and New Testaments).
Any financial assistance* will go directly to our ACSI representatives in Haiti who will distribute it to the schools. Join us in prayer for this nation, asking God to bring comfort, peace, and shelter to His children there.
*ACSI will direct your gift to the need you have indicated. In rare cases where donations exceed what is needed, or where local conditions prevent program implementation, ACSI will redirect funds to similar relief or reconstruction activities to help children and Christian schools in need.
